The International Standards Organization Guidance on Project Management (ISO 21500:2012) provides a description of concepts and process that are good practices for project management. Those standards are embodied in guides such as the Project Management Institute Project Management Guide (PMBOK Guide). The standard provides a perspective on the process and subject groups that are common across projects. However, the standard acknowledges similar projects may differ by the deliverables, the stakeholder, resources, constraints, and the tailoring of processes that produce the deliverables.
The table provides an overview of the ISO 21500:2012 subject groups and processes that may be tailored depending upon the project due to having differing deliverables, stakeholders, resources, constraints, and processes. The table provides identifies the charts that may be useful in tailoring the guide for the target project.
